We grow nutritionally dense food and promote soil and water quality, to create healthy environments and people.
Our farm market offers a wide variety of fresh and delicious grains and flours. Our goal is to produce the most flavorful and aromatic products that you've ever had. We also offer seasonal honey made from own canola fields.

At Uhlorn Family Farms, we believe in supporting our local community. We work closely with other farmers and producers to promote local agriculture and regenerative farming practices. We offer educational tours to teach people about the importance of farming and where their food comes from. We are active in many organizations that promote our local agricultural industry.

Johann Uhlorn-DOB: 1823 (Uptioh, Oldenburg,Germany), he lived in Uptioh until 1845 when he and several other farmers traveled to America to get a new start. On October 6, 1845 he sailed to the U.S. From New Orleans, he went to Cincinnati, Ohio where he lived until 1847. He married Bernadine Witthorn-DOB 1834 (Germany) in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1847. They moved to Greencreek, Illinois. They had 3 children: John- DOB: 1848 (C. Ohio), Pillemina-DOB: 1851 and Mary Elisabeth- DOB:1855
John Uhlorn married Mary Bernadine Nuxoll in Greencreek, Illinois in 1875. They had 9 children: Bernadine-1876, John-1879, Philomena-1884, Joseph-1886, Twin boys-died at 6 wks, Lawrence-died at 6 mos., Henry-died at birth, Aloysious-1893 all born in Greencreek, Illinois.
Around 1900, John & Mary traveled to Idaho to look for a place to farm. Mary returned the following September to Idaho and purchased the George Willoughby farm, which is the present home place.
John died in 1916 in Ferdinand, Idaho. When John died, Aloysious took over the farm. Mary died in 1927 in Ferdinand, ID.
Aloysious married Scholastica (Calista) Duman (1901) on 10-19-1920 In Cottonwood, ID. They had 14 children: Cletus, Rita, Mary & John (died at birth), Edna, Gerald (1927), Irma, Jane, Twins-Vern & Vera (Sr. Angela), Maurus, Betty (Sr. Cecile),Sally and Myrna.
Aloysious died in 1-13-1972. The snow was so deep that year that only immediate family were allowed to attend the burial at the Ferdinand Cemetery. Scholastica (Calista) died in 1987.
Gerald, Vern and Maurus all farmed together until 1981. In 1981, Gerald split from Vern and Maurus and began farming with his son, Darrel although they continued to help each other with harvest. Darrel leased the original homestead after Vern and Maurus retired in 1998.
Gerald married Joanne Lightfield in 1952. They had 7 children, Barb, Mike, Margie, Shelley, Darrel, Janice and Greg.
Darrel married Mary Redl in 1984. They had 3 children, Brentley, Kylie and Holli. Darrel and Brent started farming together in 2014.
Brent married Tanis Smith Ortiz in 2016. They had 3 children: Tristan, Baker and Rayna.
Darrel and Brent formed Uhlorn Family Farms in 2018.
